Changes to Benefit Account

-Notify the MPRA of changes to your beneficiaries or their information such as name changes, address changes, email, and/or phone number changes. 

-As a member you can submit changes to your account by clicking on the “How make changes” link and completing a new beneficiary form

-Upon completion of a new beneficiary form, please send it to the MPRA office at:

NoteThe PRA does not have normal office hours, so please email or leave a voice mail and we will return your messages. 

Death of a Member:

  1. Please notify our office if the death of a member occurs.
  2. In order to process the death benefit, we will need to receive a copy of the member’s death certificate. The death certificate can be mailed to the above address.
  3. Once the MPRA has received the death certificate, it may take a few weeks to process the claim.
  4. The MPRA will forward check(s) through the mail to eligible beneficiaries at the end of each month.

Tips to avoid benefit issues at the time of death: 

1. Ensure your beneficiary designations reflect life changes: birth, adoption, marriage, divorce and death. Review beneficiary designations periodically.
2. Beneficiary forms on file at the MPRA determine beneficiaries for financial payout, not the member’s will and/or estate.
3. Ensure beneficiary forms have your beneficiary’s most current address, email, and phone number. 
4. Ensure the beneficiary form is signed, dated, and the percentage total adds up to 100% for the designated beneficiaries.
